Boy praying on the Mount, thank God..jpg

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope"

Jeremiah 29:11

black in america

There are many who do not understand how it feels to be judged daily based on the color of your skin. Being followed in stores as if I am a criminal, being taunted at the gas station by adult white men for no reason, and seeing the racial divide over the removal of confederate flags from my school are just a few things I have already experienced and witnessed in my lifetime. I've learned that being the son of a police officer does not exempt me from being a target of those who spew hate and desire to harm others because of the color of their skin. I want to feel safe in my neighborhood and my community without prejudgment. My parents taught me how to trust God, walk in love, and how to treat all people with decency and respect no matter the race. I know that the good in our country outweighs the bad, but often the hurt that I feel that is inflicted by the bad often speaks louder. I do believe God is more powerful than the evil that covers this land and that this is a spiritual battle. So, I will walk in my God-given authority, stand for what is right, and peacefully fight for justice and equality for all. THROUGH MY MUSIC, I LET MY VOICE BE HEARD.
